Café Orleans was created as a tribute to General Amar Singh Kanota, the third Thakur of Kanota and a passionate food enthusiast. He built Narain Niwas in 1928, and during his time in the British Army, he spent a month in the city of Orleans, France, where he experienced the lively café culture and the unique charm of French hospitality. His grandson, Thakur Man Singh Kanota, established Café Orleans in his memory—honoring his love for travel, good food, and the memorable days spent in France.
